Not sure how many people this journal will reach, but I feel the need to write it if only for documentation purposes when introducing Texturism as a possible new art movement. As you might have guessed, it revolves around heavy use of textures. Always hiding in plain sight, but rarely ever focused on, or truly appreciated for what they are. I do not claim to invent Texturism. My interest in the subject started as a photographer in 2005 simply capturing random textures on camera. Then around 2013 I discovered an amazing artist by the name of Sirius-sdz right here on DeviantArt, generously offering his textures as stock. For once it seemed textures were sexy, and Sirius-sdz is very talented at creating a dynamic sense of contrast. On several levels like pitting light against dark, and grungy details against bokeh / blurry lights.
